Projects Coordinating Unit (PCU) serve as a one-stop shop to coordinate, oversee and supervise agricultural projects being funded by international donor organizations in the Ministry. The unit is reconstituted in 2017 and approved by the Head of Service as a specialized unit in the office of the Permanent Secretary to coordinate the activities of Development Partners funded projects and Donors working in the agricultural sector in Nigeria.

Vision

To support the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development towards attainment of food security through effective coordination of Development partners support projects/programs.

 

Mission:

To promote and support agriculture as business by creating enabling environment for the private sector to invest, develop, strengthen various agricultural support projects and develop strategic partnership with relevant stakeholders.

Mandate

  • Coordinate, harmonize and supervise all development partner-assisted projects and support programmes.
  • Review status of on-going projects/programmes.
  • Negotiate Pipelines and prepare new projects.
  • Conduct an Implementation Completion Review Report (ICR) on closed projects/programmes.

Functions

  • Acts as competent frontline service delivery Unit providing services to a wide range of clients across the agricultural sector.
  • Interfacing with state governments in the development and implementation of agricultural donor funded assisted projects.
  • Project planning and development in collaboration with relevant MDAs.
  • Bridging the flow of information gap from donor funded and development partner’s activities and the Ministry.
  • Improving the synergy and collaboration of efforts of the donor/ development partner agencies in delivering the activities on various interventions.
  • Improving the institutional memory and capacity of project managers of the ministry relating to donor development partner activities in the agricultural sector.
